The Music Department
Music currently has:
- two extremely well resourced classrooms
- keyboards for a whole class
- acoustic, electric and bass guitars
- a large amount of percussion
- Cubase software on our own set of laptops
- interactive whiteboards in each classroom
- practise rooms attached to each classroom
- 2 full time teachers, 1 part time music teacher and a large amount of peripatetic staff
Key stage 3
Music is studied by all students at Key Stage 3 and have one 50min music lesson each week.
The curriculum focuses on three main skills- Performance, Listening and Composing. Schemes cover a wide range of styles from Mozart and the Opera to Rap music.
Key stage 4
Classes work towards the AQA GCSE Music exam. This course focuses on Composition, Performance and Listening and Analysis
