MFL - including Spanish and French at Key Stages 3 and 4
The department has three dedicated rooms; two with computer access. The department has excellent resources including
- DVDs.
- Language-learning software (Eurotalk, French/Spanish Expressions).
- Subscriptions to websites (www.linguascope.com www.atantot.com)
In Years 7-9 all students study either French or Spanish and develop skills in speaking, listening, reading and writing work through games, DVDs, and computer work, boosted by cross-curricular projects (cooking, art, music, meals out) and, in some years, partnerships with schools abroad.

For the last two years Year 9 students have also taken part in a work related event looking at the link between business and modern languages. Working with Barnet Education Business Partnership students have worked alongside local employers in a series of workshops to gain a greater understanding of the importance of other languages in the local, national and international community.
In Key Stage 4 students have the choice to continue their study of a language at GCSE level and can select from Spanish or French
