London Academy Careers Fair
As part of National Careers week London Academy held its annual careers fair for our Yr. 7-13 students with the majority of students attending. As part of our robust careers programme we endeavour to empower our students. Through this we hope our students will find a career that fulfils them.
This year represented a very diverse range of careers, with over 100 professional volunteers speaking with our students about their experiences and offering advice. Additionally, five workshops were held, including ‘STEM: Electrical Engineering’ which was run by VERV energy; ‘Data Analysis’, run by Station 10 who are experts in analysing multichannel customer data and turning it into valuable, usable insight. ‘How to get into the Civil Service’ was arranged by the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy; How to get into Medicine, Prof. D. Lomas, Vice Provost UCL; and finally ‘How to get into a Russell Group university’ undertaken by the Brilliant Club. The workshops proved incredibly insightful and gave students valuable hints, tips and contacts. Thank you to all the staff and volunteers for organising such an outstanding event.
