National Volunteer Week

London Academy is a thriving community and a significant part of this is a commitment to volunteer and help others. Students are always eager to volunteer, with a huge number mentoring younger students to support them in a range of activities including reading. Our staff frequently go above and beyond volunteering to arrange trips, activities and clubs to ensure our students receive a rich and varied learning experience.

London Academy have a number of volunteers from the local community. One of our volunteers, Albert Wood, has been influential in the lives of many students who enjoy table tennis. Albert’s commitment to table tennis at London Academy goes back many years and his dedication to encouraging and mentoring young people has helped inspire students to succeed and brought the club together. Albert has tirelessly undertaken many roles from helping set up and clearing away, coaching and providing valuable strategic support to the Head Coach, Bhavin Savjani. It is very true to say that when a London Academy student wins a trophy or medal that we should never forget the invaluable contribution made by Albert Wood and the many other volunteers.
