University Destinations

At London Academy students are supported in making informed choices about their destinations after sixth form.

There has been a strong increase in recent years in the number of students deciding that university is the right choice for them with over 90% of students applying to higher education. Capitalising on the wealth of information, advice and guidance that our dedicated Year 13 tutor team provides, they select 5 universities and courses that they are passionate about attending. Students apply for a hugely diverse range of subjects from Theoretical Physics to Song writing reflecting the rich variety of academic strengths found at London Academy’s 6^th Form.

In 2020 over 30% of school leavers took up offers at Russell Group universities – a 10% increase on the previous year. Last year also saw 24 students prepare for Oxbridge applications, each benefitting from a tailored programme of support to ensure their applications and preparation for admissions assessments were as strong as possible. Over 10 students received an interview and 4 students successfully gained places at Oxbridge this summer, which is our highest total to date. We are very proud of the achievements of all our students and teachers.
