Safeguarding our students

London Academy recognises that we have a statutory responsibility to safeguard our students and protect their wellbeing. That’s why we put their best interests at the centre of our work.  And why we endeavour to provide a safe and welcoming environment in which everyone is respected and valued.

Our staff are here to help protect students both inside the academy and in our communities, physically and online.

Everyone in our community (staff colleagues, governors, parents, carers, families and our students themselves) has an essential role to play in keeping our school safe and secure. All welfare concerns are taken seriously, and staff receive ongoing training to stay alert to any signs of abuse and neglect. Plus, all members of staff follow our safeguarding and safer recruitment procedures to ensure that children receive effective support and protection.

Our school values – particularly ‘Good citizenship’, ‘Responsibility’, and ‘Integrity’ – contribute to an environment in which pupils feel safe, secure and respected. We encourage them to talk openly about anything that worries them, makes them feel unsafe, or may make others feel unsafe.

Above all, everyone can feel confident that they’ll be listened to.
