Apply for a school place at www.eadmissions.org.uk.
Our admission limit is 30. Where the number of applications is greater than the published admissions number, applications will be considered against this criteria, in the order seen:
a) Children who are ‘looked after’ and children who were looked after, but ceased to be so because they were adopted or became subject to a child arrangements order or special guardianship order under the provision of the Children Act 1989
b) Siblings at the academy (siblings would include half, step, adoptive and foster siblings, provided they also live at the same address as the applicant). It will also include siblings of former students, provided they completed their education at the end of year 11 or in Sixth Form
c) Children attending another AIM Academy Trust school
d) Children who are in receipt of the Pupil Premium or early years premium at date of application
e) Students whose parent has been employed at the Academy for two or more years at the time at which the application is made, and children of staff who have been employed to fill a post for which there is a demonstrable skill shortage
f) Remaining places will be allocated on a geographical basis. Distance will be measured in a straight line from the child’s home address to the entrance of the Secondary Principal’s office using the London Borough of Barnet’s computerised geographical information system. Those living closest will be given priority.
National Offer Day is Thursday 16 April 2026. Parents must log in to their online admissions account to find out which school place their child has been offered.
Deferred Entry or Delayed Entry
Parents can choose to defer their child’s start until they reach compulsory school age-5 years old. Where this is for one or two terms, this is known as ‘deferring’ entry, and the place offered and accepted will be retained for that child until they start school. However, entry cannot be deferred beyond the end of the second term of the school year. The parents of summer born children can defer entry for one or two terms (and retain their place), however if they decide that their child will not start school until the following school year in September (known as ‘delaying’ entry), the place offered and accepted will be lost, and the parents will have to make a new application for admission the following year. The child would then ordinarily start in Year 1 however parents are able to request admission outside the normal age group in order for their child to start in Reception. For more information please read the DFE guidance: Summer-born children starting school: advice for parents – GOV.UK
Applications must be in by Thursday 15 January 2026 . Late applications will not be considered until Barnet have allocated school places for the applications received on time. This means that late applicants are unlikely to be offered one of their preferred schools, and may be allocated an alternative school in the second round of offers.
Admissions to London Academy are coordinated through the London Borough of Barnet admissions service. Please click here to access the Barnet admissions website.
