Information about London Academy
London Academy is an ambitious all-through Academy in North London, serving a multicultural and disadvantaged community. The Academy has been in the top 60 schools nationally in two of the last four years of published progress 8 scores. The Academy is on a mission to become the highest performing state school in London by August 2030. We prioritise students eligible for pupil premium funding in our Admissions Policy. We believe that every child can achieve excellent academic qualifications through hard work, discipline, a rigorous, academic curriculum and consistently excellent teaching. We also place equal importance on the development of the whole child and hence offer a wide and varied enrichment and extracurricular programme. If you are values driven and believe that every child deserves a world class education, then please apply.
The Opportunity
This post is pivotal to the Academy’s continuing drive to raise attainment for all our children. You will have responsibility for driving improvements in Teaching and Learning and attainment within the Art department. We offer GCSE Graphic Communication and A level Art, Graphic Communication and Photography. All of these subjects are popular choices at GCSE and A level. All students study Art until year 9. The successful candidate will ensure that a high quality curriculum, excellent teaching and assessment allow students to successfully achieve excellent outcomes at GCSE and A level. We also have modern classrooms and other facilities, for example specialist computer software, to help deliver lessons and the curriculum.
Our mission is to develop the leadership potential in both our staff and students and we want to be at the forefront of developing the next generation of national school leaders. We can help prepare you for future career opportunities, investing in your development through regular coaching and a wide range of professional development opportunities, such as the NPQ qualifications.
