London Academy Sports Day will take place at Stone X Stadium, Greenlands Lanes, Hendon, London NW4 1RL on Wednesday 8th July. This will be a fun sports event which will involve all students and staff from London Academy. This is a compulsory school day therefore all pupils must attend. Failure to attend Sports Day will mean your child will receive an ‘unauthorised absence’ on their school record and, in line with the school’s behaviour policy, will receive a sanction for their unauthorised absence. If your child is absent due to illness/appointment on the day itself, then you must contact the school absent phone line as per a normal school day to report absence.

As there are over 800 students involved in Sports Day, your child is expected to make their own way to and from the Stadium. Details of how to get to the Stadium by public transport will be explained to students in an upcoming assembly and in their PE lessons over the coming weeks.

If your child is unable to get to the stadium by public transport, then there will be a limited number of places available on the hire coach, and school min bus which will leave school at 08:15 on Wednesday 8th July. Your child must speak to their form tutor to request a place on the coach and should arrive at school at 08:00 for an 08:15 departure. The coach will also leave the venue to bring students back to school at approximately 15:10.

There are no catering facilities available at the Stadium, so you will need to provide your child  with a packed lunch and drinks for the day. If your child is entitled to a free school meal, then a packed lunch will be available for them on the day. As it is a day of sports, normal school uniform is not required but all students must wear the London Academy PE kit (white school polo top, school shorts, trainers)

Due to the rental agreement of the sports stadium, the day finishes at 14:30 when your child will be dismissed from the stadium. The coach will leave the venue at 14:30 If your child would like to return to school, they will arrive back at school at approximately 15.10.

Please note that due to safeguarding requirements, parents are not permitted entrance to the stadium.
