Student Wellbeing

London Academy recognises that we have a statutory responsibility to safeguard students and protect their wellbeing: we put their best interests at the centre of our work.  We endeavour to provide a safe and welcoming environment in which everyone is respected and valued.

The staff are here to help protect students inside the academy and in our communities, both in the real world and online.

Everyone in our community – our staff team, governors, parents, carers, families and students themselves – have an essential role to play in making our school safe and secure. All adults in our school take all welfare concerns seriously and receive ongoing training to ensure that they are alert to the signs of abuse and neglect. All members of staff follow our safeguarding and safer recruitment procedures to ensure that children receive effective support and protection.

Our school values, particularly ‘Good citizenship’, ‘Responsibility’ and ‘Integrity’, create an environment in which our pupils feel safe, secure and respected. We encourage them to talk openly about anything that worries them, makes them feel safe or may make others feel unsafe. We seek to help them to feel confident that they will be listened to.
